UROP Ambassadors Program

2025 Ambassador Role: UROP will not be hiring ambassadors for AY 2025/26

This program’s goal is to establish a peer support system to help undergraduates navigate research opportunities at BU. Students will be invited to apply during the summer to serve as UROP Ambassadors during the following academic year. Ambassadors will receive $1,000.00 per semester. A select number of previously funded students representing diverse research backgrounds will be chosen to participate.

A successful UROP Ambassador:
Possesses strong leadership qualities
Excels in community building
Exhibits strong public speaking skills
Has an interest in developing the inaugural Ambassador program

Commitments include:
Participation at UROP programming including information sessions and social events
Presenting your research at events and programming as needed
Assistance at the UROP Symposium in October
Contributing to UROP social media and website presence
Holding regular office hours (~2 hours/week)
Attendance at regularly scheduled ambassador meetings
Contributing an average of 3-5 hours/week to the program

Requirements for applicants:
Students must have received UROP funding for at least one semester, working under the mentorship of a Boston University faculty member
Students must be in good academic standing
Student’s mentor must sign off on those selected to participate

Interviews for UROP Ambassador positions will likely be held over Zoom in early August.
