2018 Awardees
-
Charlotte Cathcart, a Mechanical Engineering major, is conducting research with Dr. Keith Brown (ENG Mechanical Engineering) to create multifunctional surfaces intended for military use in collaboration with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC)
-
Joyce Chan, a Mechanical Engineering major, is conducting research with Dr. Rebecca Khursid (ENG Mechanical Engineering) to leverage the sense of touch to enable a human-robot team to mutually adapt to each other’s actions and to work more efficiently together.
-
Stephanie Esonwune, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major is conducting research with Dr. Deborah Perlstein (CAS Chemistry) investigating the in vivo binding interactions between Cia1 and Cia2.
-
Alecia Griffin, and Electrical Engineering major, is working with Dr. Mark Horenstein (ENG Electrical Engineering) on a project that focuses on developing and improving Electrodynamic screens (EDS), which clean solar panels and mirrors without mechanical wiping or water cleaning, but instead through electrostatic charge.
-
Annalies Kleyheeg, a Physics major, is working with Dr. Alex Sushkov (CAS Physics) to explore polarization of spins in NMR through optical nuclear polarization.
-
Melissa Kovar, a Physics major, is conducting research with Dr. Shaymsunder Erramilli (CAS Physics) to develop a system that exploits new high-brightness laser sources to characterize mid-infrared optical activity associated with specific vibrational normal modes in chiral molecules.
-
Kimberly Kroupa, a Mechanical Engineering major, is working with Dr. Michael Albro (ENG Mechanical Engineering) to explore non-invasive analysis of growth of engineered human cartilage tissues using raman spectroscopy.
-
Jada White, a Chemistry major, is conducting research with Dr. Aaron Beeler (CAS Chemistry) to examine hetero-dimerized cinnamamides, molecules that could be used to create drugs to treat many pervasive conditions such as cancer.
