If you are interested in applying to Boston University, please be aware of all Important Deadlines and follow the instructions on the How to Apply section of our website.

First-Year Students: If you are applying from high school or with equivalent high school requirements, apply as a First-Year Applicant.

Transfer Students: If you have completed one semester as a degree candidate at another college or university, apply as a Transfer Applicant.

International Students: If you are a citizen of a country other than the US, you may review the requirements on the International Applicants page.

Metropolitan College (MET): Instructions for MET undergraduate applicants are available on the MET Undergrad Admissions website.

Application Fee Waiver: Undergraduate applicants are eligible for an application fee waiver based on U.S. military active duty, reservist, or veteran status. If you believe you’re eligible please email veterans@bu.edu verifying your military service, as well as your full name, date of birth, and whether you are using the Common Application or Coalition Application. Please do not send any documents with your Social Security Number.

Financial Assistance

The Post 9/11 GI Bill® covers less than half of Boston University’s full-time tuition and fees, and all undergraduate applicants are actively encouraged to apply for financial aid by navigating to the appropriate links and following the instructions on the Undergraduate Financial Assistance website. Remember to complete both the FAFSA and CSS Profile before the deadline to be considered for the full amount of financial aid you may be eligible to receive.

First-Year Students: If you are applying from high school or with equivalent high school requirements, you will apply for First-Year Financial Aid.
