Participation Process

This year’s challenge takes place from April 7th – May 16th

Registration to participate in The Terriers Trek Through Boston Challenge will end on March 21st.

If you register on the platform after March 21st, 2025, you will not be able to participate in the challenge this year and we look forward to you joining next year.

To participate, team captains must register and create their team through the challenge platform by March 21st. Complete team captain instructions can be found here.

Participants must register on the challenge platform, accept their team invitation, and if applicable, submit a Fitbit® request form by March 21st.

Please note, even if you participated in the challenge last year, you will still need to register on the platform to participate.

In order to participate, employees must have been hired and entered into SAP by March 3rd, 2025.

Participation Process:

Registration for the challenge, requesting Fitbit® devices, and tracking points will be hosted on the Propel platform. 

  • Create a team with your BU Colleagues with 5-20 BU employees and designate a team captain.
  • All challenge participants must go to bu.propelwellness.com from your computer or mobile device and select “Register”. In order to register you must enter your BUID, first name, and last name exactly how it appears on your BU record.
  • Complete the Registration Information section and click “Continue.” You will need your BU ID during this process. Complete the Account Information section and click “Continue.”
  • Complete the Fitbit Request form if you require a fitness tracking device and sync your fitness tracking device to the portal.
  • You are not required to enter in any biometric information on the platform in order to register. However, the biometric information you do enter is confidential and will only be viewable by you. This information cannot be viewed by other challenge participants.
  • Team Captains must register and create their team through the challenge platform by March 21st. The platform will send challenge invites t to each Team Participant. Please review the Team Captain Guide for a detailed explanation on how to complete this process.
  • Team Participants must accept their team invitation through the platform in order to join their team. Team Participants will receive this invitation to their email address that is used to register on the platform. Click the link in the email invitation. Once you are redirected to the challenge platform, select “Accept Team Invitation”.
  • Team Captains will receive confirmation regarding Fitbit® availability after March 21st and are responsible for picking up Fitbit® devices on behalf of their team beginning March 31st through April 4th. We ask that all Team Captains bring their own reusable bag for pickup to transport the Fitbit® devices back to their offices.
