Listed below are the Boston University Wheelock tuition and fee rates for the year 2025–26.
The total Cost of Attendance is the combination of billed expenses (tuition and mandatory fees), and non-billed expenses (food & housing, personal, and travel expenses). To better estimate one’s annual cost of attendance review the information on this page, as well as our 25/26 Budget Worksheet. If you were awarded a scholarship at the time of admission, please remember to factor that into your budget worksheet.
Full-Time Study
Full-Time Student Academic School Year
For full-time status, you must be enrolled in 12 to 18 credits per semester. You’ll be charged a standard tuition rate as a full-time student.
Below is the University’s estimated cost of attendance. The budget represents average nine-month costs and a standard personal living allowance for a full-time graduate student with no dependents.

* Massachusetts requires that all full-time students must have credible insurance coverage. Students are automatically enrolled in Boson University’s basic Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) with the option to waive if they can provide proof of comparable coverage from an outside source.
Course Overload
Course overload: If you take more than 18 credits (2025–2026), you will incur an additional, nonnegotiable charge per credit.
Part-Time, Online & Summer Study
Part-Time Student Academic Year
For part-time status, you must be enrolled in fewer than 12 credits. All students studying during the summer semester are considered part-time students and pay per credit regardless of the total credit number. All students enrolled in online study at BU Wheelock also study part-time, taking fewer than 12 credits per semester.
