Last Friday evening, the BU Wheelock community came together for a new tradition: the Junior Celebration. Students, faculty, and staff received recognition for their outstanding contributions and leadership.

The Outstanding Student of the Year Award recognizes students for their involvement in campus activities, for serving as a positive role model for their peers, the demonstration of the ability to work with a variety of students and for representing the ideals of BU Wheelock. This year’s recipients are: 

• Katie Foley (Wheelock’22) 
• Claudia Smith (Wheelock’21)
• Noelle Ballantine (Wheelock’20)

The Outstanding Faculty/Staff of the Year Award recognizes a faculty member and a staff member who demonstrate support and encouragement for the enhancement of cocurricular life and leadership development at BU Wheelock. This year’s recipients are: 

• Robert Martinelle, lecturer in Curriculum & Teaching 
• Liz Vassallo, Academic Success Specialist
