
Mia Correia
Part-Time Instructor
Dr. Mia Correia is the curriculum, data, and assessment manager for world languages in Massachusetts in PreK–12, where she strives to contribute to the improvement of language education in her district. She is is deeply committed to celebrating multiculturalism, drawing inspiration from her diverse Brazilian, Portuguese, and Japanese heritage. Dr. Correia is also a part-time instructor at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.
Having recently completed her doctorate in educational leadership at Northeastern University, Dr. Correia maintains a focus on the development of world language programs. Her research is centered on creating fair opportunities for students to excel in world languages through interdisciplinary projects.
Dr. Correia’s teaching journey, spanning over seven years, has been a source of immense personal growth. Through collaborative efforts, she played a part in expanding the world language program at her former district. Additionally, her contributions to the Massachusetts World Language Curriculum Frameworks and her role on the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association (MAFLA) board highlight her dedication to the advancement of world language education. With genuine humility, Dr. Correia cherishes the opportunity to contribute to the vital field of education.
