Social Media GA, Fall/Spring 2024–25
BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development seeks a graduate assistant to contribute to social media activities for the 2024-25 academic year. The social media GA will work with the BU Wheelock Marketing & Communications Office to produce content for the college’s social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube, to engage current and prospective students in learning more about BU Wheelock and its community. Experience creating and posting social media content required; photography and videography skills highly desirable.

College Access & Student Success GA
The Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development’s College Access & Student Success (CASS) programs provides direct service to underrepresented students across K–16 with the goal of having students ready for, enrolling in, and graduating from postsecondary education. The term underrepresented includes but is not limited to students who are: low-income; first-generation to attend college; underrepresented in higher education based on race or ethnicity; or students with disabilities.
Eligibility Requirements: All applicants must:
- Be an entering or current Boston University graduate student at Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, School of Social Work (SSW), or similar program. Priority will be given to Wheelock applicants.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Be committed to working with urban youth
- Other preferred qualifications:
- Experience with undergraduate and pre-college outreach initiatives, especially those focused on supporting underrepresented students
- Experience with program administration and management
- Knowledge of Boston and the Boston Public Schools
Primary Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the executive director of College Access & Student Success and is responsible for supporting the implementation and evaluation of CASS projects and initiatives. These responsibilities include:
- Assist with events and workshops for College Access & Student Success undergraduate students.
- Assist in planning and provide supporting logistics for programming with Boston Public Schools.
- Assist in planning and provide supporting logistics for campus visits from local schools and partner organizations. The purpose of these visits is to promote college access.
- Assistant with the evaluation of projects and initiatives run by the College Access & Student Success office.
Weekly Time Commitment: 15 hours per week from September 3, 2024 to April 25, 2025 including occasional weekends
Compensation: This is a paid position. Compensation for the 2024–25 school year is $10,500.
