New Online Chinese Language Course LC112OL Offered in Summer 2019
Liling Huang began to work on the course, Second Semester Chinese Online LC112OL, closely with the Instructional Production Services and the Office of Distance Education since spring 2019. This fully online course was offered in Summer II, 2019 for the first time by Liling Huang. The features of this online course are:
- Interactive: it intends to foster collaboration between learners and create an interactive online learning community through group project, pair work and live conferences.
- Authentic: it not only introduces learners language form and function through animated videos recorded by the teacher, but also exposes learners to authentic video clips from the media. Learners are encouraged to apply learnt knowledge to the conversations with Chinese native speakers via mobile social media app.
- Personalized learning: it provides learners with individual feedback in various formats (audio, video, text).
- Game based learning: it utilizes different tools to design a game-based learning environment.
