Eileen Kane is Associate Professor of History and Director of the Program in Global Islamic Studies at Connecticut College. Her first book, Russian Hajj: Empire and the Pilgrimage to Mecca (Cornell 2015), is a history of Russian state patronage of the hajj in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. She is now working on a history of Jewish and Muslim migrations from Russian lands to the Middle East, between the 1840s and 1940s.
