Women who are seeking to advance their academic or professional careers, combatting discrimination in the courts, or considering projects to promote education and equity for women and girls, can apply for an American Association of University Women (AAUW) fellowship or grant!
Deadlines for 2024–2025 awards are fast approaching.
SELECTED PROFESSIONS FELLOWSHIPS
For women pursuing full-time study in a master’s or professional degree program in which women are underrepresented, including STEM, law, business, and medicine.
Funding: $20,000
Deadline: November 15
For women pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations or conduct postdoctoral research, or to those preparing research for publication for eight consecutive weeks.
Funding: $8,000–$50,000
Deadline: November 15
For women pursuing a certificate or degree to advance their careers, change careers, or reenter the workforce in education, health and medical sciences, STEM, or social sciences and whose bachelor’s degree was received at least eight years before the award period.
Funding: $2,000–$20,000
Deadline: November 15
For women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Funding: $20,000–$50,000
Deadline: November 15
For individuals, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations that fund innovative programs or that promote education and equity for women and girls. Funds are available for projects in all U.S. states and territories; however, special funds are available for AAUW members, branches, and state organizations in the New York City metropolitan area.
Funding: $3,000–$10,000
Deadline: November 15
RESEARCH PUBLICATION GRANT IN ENGINEERING, MEDICINE AND SCIENCE
For women conducting basic research in engineering, medicine or the physical or biological sciences and who have a doctorate degree in one of those fields. Grantees are required to publish their research in a scholarly scientific publication and be listed as a primary author.
Funding: $10,000–$35,000
Deadline: November 15
For individuals or classes of individuals who have filed a case in state or federal court that addresses sex discrimination in employment or education and have the potential to set or reinforce precedent for future cases on gender discrimination. Funds are available for, but not limited to, litigation-related expense categories.
Funding: $5,000–$20,000
Deadline: November 15
