Thank you for your interest in "Mastering Self Advocacy in Graduate School," an upcoming seminar hosted by the Community Catalyst Center. This event will discuss tips and tricks to help you navigate your academic journey, communicate effectively, negotiate confidently, and own your graduate school experience. Join us in L-401 from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5. Lunch will be provided. Please navigate this short form to register for the event. This event will include a short presentation on self-advocacy by Rachel Levy-Bell, PsyD, followed by a student panel and Q&A featuring several C3 mentors. Dr. Levy-Bell is the program director for the Mental Health & Behavioral Medicine master's program, as well as a clinical associate professor of psychiatry. The student mentors include: - Kate Alimenti (she/her): PhD candidate in the Genetic & Genomics program; gPLUS mentor - Aryan Pradhan (he/him): Master of Science in Pathology Laboratory Sciences student; gGLOBAL mentor - Kara Vasilew (she/her): PhD candidate in the Virology, Immunology, and Microbiology program; gFIRST and gDAG mentor - Crystal Vejar (she/her): Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MAMS) student; gFIRST and gMAV mentor Topics discussed will include advocating for yourself in academia and lab settings, navigating interpersonal dynamics, communicating your needs, support and advocacy for students with intersecting identities, battling imposter syndrome, believing in your research, and more!
