How do I find out the topic of my WR 120/151/152/153 section?
All WR 120, WR 151, WR 152, and WR 153 sections have individual topics, which vary widely. Please consult our course catalog to find out the topic of each section and read a bit more about it.
How do I add myself to the wait list for a full CAS WR class?
Starting in Fall 2024, all CAS WR classes will have wait lists of up to 20 students. If you try to enroll in a full class in MyBU, you’ll get an option to sign up for the wait list if there are still wait list spots available. Follow the instructions on MyBU. Once you have signed up, you’ll see all the sections you are on the wait list for on your dashboard and also see what your current position is on the wait list.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you’re registered for another class that has a time conflict with the wait list section, you need to select that you want to drop the conflicting class if a spot opens in the waitlist section when you sign up for the wait list. If you have a class conflict and you don’t select that option, the system will not register you for the waitlist section even if a seat opens in it. It will skip over you and go to the next person on the wait list.
How does the wait list for CAS WR classes work?
If the student in the first position does not qualify to register for the class, the system immediately moves on to the next student on the wait list until it finds a student that is eligible to register. Then it will register that student. The next time a seat opens, the system will start the process again beginning with the student in position 1.
IMPORTANT NOTES: If you have a registration hold on your student account, the system will skip over you and not register you even if a seat opens and you are in the highest wait list position. See your dashboard for information about what the hold is and how to remove it from your student account. Once the hold is removed, the wait list will stop skipping over you.
If you are registered for a class that has a time conflict with the wait list section, the system will skip over you and not register you even if a seat opens and you are in the highest wait list position. When you sign up for the wait list, you need to select the option to drop the conflicting class if a wait list seat opens in the wait list section. You may have to remove yourself from the wait list and sign up again doing that option to fix the problem. This may result in you getting a new lower position number on the wait list. Another option is to drop the conflicting class, but that will only fix the issue for future seats that open in the wait list class. It may also be riskier because it is possible no more seats will open in the wait list class.
