Carly Ching, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist in the Zaman Lab. She utilizes her background in molecular microbiology to understand the drivers of infectious disease burdens globally, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance. Her work also includes determining how to improve antimicrobial stewardship and policy. As a United States Pharmacopeia Quality Institute Fellow her research focused on substandard antibiotics and antibiotic resistance development. Dr. Ching earned her Ph.D. in Biology at Northeastern University. Her doctoral research focused on stress responses in the opportunistic bacterial pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii, a leading cause of multi-drug-resistant hospital-acquired infections.
