Grenache/Garnacha, with Sandy Block, MW
Whether we call it Grenache or Garnacha, or its identity is buried in an appellation name like Priorat or Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it’s amazing how invisible this star-grape variety remains. Truly an underdog, Grenache/Garnacha offers sensual textures, lush red fruit flavors, and irresistible spice nuances, all in an approachable, easy-to-drink package. Explore the terroir-driven diversity of this worthy but underappreciated varietal with Master of Wine Sandy Block, who has long championed the grape and is excited to share with you some of his most recent discoveries, as well as several of the classic expressions.
