Instruction

Welcome to our instruction services! All students, staff and faculty of the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, and other BU community members are welcome. Please call 617-353-3734, contact library staff, or email picklib@bu.edu to schedule an appointment for an in-class presentation by the librarian, or for in-depth research consultations.

Class Instruction

Librarian-led class sessions serve to introduce students to research materials in education – including where to find data sources and how to find access to digital material. These sessions can support faculty teaching and can be on simple or advanced topics, for single or multiple class sessions, and take place in regular classrooms on campus, in our library classroom, via Zoom, or elsewhere.
Collaborative projects provide opportunities for the librarian to work with faculty to infuse information literacy into their curricula. Such instruction normally covers the use of a range of electronic resources and can be tailored to your group. Please contact picklib@bu.edu to schedule class instruction.

Other Appointments

The “library” is not confined to the physical location anymore. The vast majority of our resources are electronic, and accessible from anywhere in the world with your BU web login. Only sometimes the proper resources are tricky to find. Introductions to electronic and print library resources, and consultations for individuals engaged in more advanced research topics are available.
