Update on Graduate Financial Aid

Not all financial aid information (loans, scholarships, etc.) is available in the MyBU Student Portal yet. We expect the financial aid details to be visible to students by the end of July.

Summer 2024: We are working through federal student loan requests in the order they have been received. Processing times for loan disbursements and those eligible for financial aid refunds will vary due to the delay in schools receiving 2024-25 FAFSA information from the Dept. of Education. Please note, this will not impact your class enrollment, and Student Accounting Services is also aware of this situation. They are delaying the standard late fee process and are flexible with payment deadlines for financial aid applicants.

Fall 2024: After completing your 2024-25 FAFSA, Entrance Counseling, and Master Promissory Note (MPN) for direct unsubsidized and/or graduate PLUS loans, there is nothing else you need to do at this time. Please monitor your MyBU Student Portal and BU email for updates in August on the financial aid process.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused as we navigate through the implementation of FAFSA Simplification and Boston University's new student information system. Please contact your Graduate Financial Aid Office for additional questions.
