Boston’s best emcees battle in Friday’s Freestyle & Rap Competition
On Friday, April 4, for the first time ever, BU Central’s organizers are turning over the venue to the hottest up-and-coming emcees in the Boston area to compete in the 2008 Freestyle & Rap Competition. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the show begins at 9.
In the first round, contestants perform original raps they have written. A panel of judges from the hip-hop industry will critique the performances, while the audience chooses the top rappers. The finalists will perform in the second round on April 17, where they’ll battle for gift certificates to music and clothing stores and a spot as the opening act for a big fall hip-hop concert at BU Central.
