8:31 PM 9001643 1/22/2009 Thu Bravo TELEPHONE CALLS, ANNOYING c269 S14A 700 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential DORM ROOMOfficers Brandon Stone and Antoine Ramos were dispatched for a reportof a party receiving annoying phone calls. Upon arrival officers spokewith victim who stated that he had received two annoying and obscenephone calls from two different people and two different phone numbers.The victim stated that at 8:31 PM he received a call from a male partywho knew him by name and made a derogatory sexual reference to him. Thevictim then stated that he received another phone call at 11:11 PM anda different caller made the same derogatory sexual reference as thefirst caller. The victim stated that no threats were made, but he feltuncomfortable because both callers knew him.
4:45 PM 9001603 1/22/2009 Thu Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST / NO SERVICE 79 BAY STATE RD Residential DORM ROOMOfficers Brian Abdallah and Ron Gately responded for a party requestinga medical assist. Upon arrival they met with the victim who stated shewas feeling ill and had stomach pains. Samaritan Ambulance passed thecall to Boston EMS, who arrived and evaluated the victim. The victimrefused further medical treatment.
9:30 AM 9001588 1/21/2009 Wed Alpha LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24 285 BABCOCK ST Public Property STREETOfficer Peter McCarron met with the victim of a hit and run propertydamage report. The victim stated that he parked his motor vehicle infront of 285 Babcock St at 9:30 AM and when he returned at 7:15 pm hediscovered that he had extensive damage to his motor vehicle. Thevictim stated that the driver’s side mirror was broken off along withdamage to the front driver’s side quarter. The victim also stated thathe received information that the motor vehicle accident was witnessedby a bus driver who stated that a red pick up truck struck his motorvehicle. No license plate information obtained from the witness.
5:15 AM 9001573 1/22/2009 Thu Alpha FENCE, VANDALIZE c266 S114 138 MOUNTFORT ST Academic FENCEOfficers Brandon Stone and Jefferey Kotkowski were dispatched for areport of vandalism to a fence. Upon arrival officers were advised bydispatch that Brookline Police had who had initially made an arrest onthe sidewalk adjacent to the fence. Brookline officers noticed blackgraffiti on the fence reading, "MAJESTY". The writing did not appear tobe fresh and the suspect that was arrested did not have any pens,markers or paint in his possession. The suspect was stopped for actingsuspicious in the area and possessed a warrant for his arrest.
9:18 PM 9001541 1/21/2009 Wed Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 900 COMMONWEALTH AV Public Property SIDEWALKOfficer Eugene Smith responded for a report of a woman having chestpains. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated she had beenhaving chest pains. Boston EMS was called by Samaritan Ambulance andtransported the victim to St. Elizabeth’s hospital.
11:00 AM 9001511 1/21/2009 Wed Bravo FIRE / OTHER STUCTURE 728 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential DORM ROOMOfficers Edward Shea and Eugene Smith were dispatched to apartment 302for a possible fire. Upon arrival with Boston Fire spoke with a malewho stated that he was dispatched by B&G for an unknown odor inthat apartment. He stated that when he entered the apartment heobserved a small pile of clothing on fire. The male stated that he useda fire extinguisher and put out the fire. The cause of the fire wasfrom a floor lamp, which had several items of clothing placed on top ofthe lamp.
7:00 AM 9001467 1/20/2009 Tue Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 881 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations COMMON AREAOfficer Alex Ayochok was dispatched for a medical report of a sickfemale. Upon arrival met with the victim who stated she wasexperiencing nausea, headaches and body aches since Tuesday, 1/20/2009.Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the BostonMedical Center for further treatment and care.
4:20 PM 9001434 1/16/2009 Fri Bravo DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY +$250, MALICIOUS c266 S12 175 BAY STATE RD Residential DORM ROOMOfficer Joseph Sirignano was dispatched to meet with a party who hadhis room broken into and personal property destroyed. Upon arrival hemet with the victim who stated that he left on 1/16/2009 at 4:20 PM andwhen he returned on 1/20/2009 at 8:50 AM and found the front door ofhis room had been forced open. He discovered that his Timex model T110talarm clock had been smashed on the floor at the foot of his bed. Thefront door to the room was splintered near the lock and the door latchto the door was found lying on the floor. The door appeared to havebeen kicked in and there was no footprint was visible. The victim saidthat he is not missing any personal property and that he has no knownenemies on the floor or in the building. Officer Sirignano spoke withseveral building residents.
1:25 PM 9001445 1/20/2009 Tue Bravo SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES 725 COMMONWEALTH AV Academic BATHROOMOfficers Rich Cabral, Tom Gaffney and Peter McCarron were dispatchedfor a report of a male party inside the ladies bathroom. Upon arrivalthey met with the victim who stated that at 1:25 PM she was using the1st floor ladies room when a black male looked over the middle stalland looked at the victim. The victim stated that she was sitting in themiddle stall when she heard a noise from the stall beside her and shelooked up and observed a black male, 30 years with short black hairlooking down at her. The suspect fled the ladies room in an unknowndirection. Officers searched the ladies room and the rest of thebuilding but were unable to find the suspect.
12:30 PM 9001454 1/17/2009 Sat Bravo LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30 111 CUMMINGTON ST Academic BIKE RACKOfficer Larry Mackin met with the victim of a stolen bicycle. Thevictim stated that on 1/17/2009 at 12:30 PM she secured her bicycle tothe bike rack outside of the building. When she returned on 1/19/2009at 10:00 AM she discovered that her bike and bike lock were gone. Thevictim reports that her 1973 Columbia Bike was valued at $200.00.
12:20PM 22090067 1/20/2009 Tue Bravo LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30 771COMMONWEALTH AV Library LAB On 1/20/2009 at 1:30 PM the victimreported to Mugar security the theft of his cell phone. The victimstated that he was in the 1st floor computer lab at 12:00 PM, when heplaced his cell phone on the table. At 12:20 PM he left the building,leaving his cell phone behind. He discovered that he did not have hisphone at 1:30 and returned to the library to try and recover it. Hesearched the area with negative results and then notified Mugarsecurity. Mugar security reviewed Intellex footage of the area and dueto the size of the phone the review was inconclusive. The victimreports that the his Blackberry Curve was valued at $150.00.
10:10AM 9001437 1/20/2009 Tue Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST 685 COMMONWEALTH AVAcademic STAIRWELL Officers Rich Cabral and Tom Gaffney weredispatched for a medical assist. Upon arrival Boston EMS was on scenewith the victim. The victim stated that while walking from the firstfloor staircase to the basement she slipped on the stairs, injuring herright ankle and lower back. The victim was transported to the BethIsrael Hospital for treatment.
4:00 AM 9001418 1/20/2009 TueAlpha MEDICAL ASSIST 273 BABCOCK ST Residential RA OFFICE OfficerAnicet Dybantsa was dispatched for a report of a medical. Upon arrivalhe met with the victim who stated that he had a stomach ache and thathis stomach had been bothering him for the last two days. He furtherstated that he felt nauseous and weak. Samaritan Ambulanceresponded andtransported the victim to St Elizabeth hospital for further treatment.
11:20PM 9001381 1/19/2009 Mon Alpha MV ACCIDENT / NO INJURIES GARDNER ST& MALVERN ST Public Property STREET Officers Brandon Stone andRon Gately were in the area of Gardner St and Malvern St attempting tolocate a silver SUV occupied by several black males with firearmsinvolved in an armed robbery on Gardner St. At this time, officersobserved a silver SUV operating at an increased rate of speed come downMalvern St towards Gardner St fail to stop and crashed through a chainlinked fence and several trees. Officers, believing this vehicle to bethe vehicle involved in the robbery, exited the cruiser with weaponsdrawn. It was at this time that officers determined that the operator was not a suspect. Officers asked theoperator if he was injured or in need of medical assistance which he denied. Boston Police were notifiedof the accident. While waiting for Boston, Officer Stone asked the male operator to produce his identification and vehicle registration. The operatorrepeatedly asked if he could leave the scene and return home as well as advised Officer Stone that this vehicle was his roommate’s car. The operator denied having his license on his person and that he did not have a wallet. At this time, the operator was asked to step out of thevehicle and a wallet was observed in his pocket at this time. The operator removed his wallet and opened it at which time 2 Massachusettsdriver’s licenses were observed. At this time the operator gave Officer Stone both licenses and it was observed that one of thelicenses was not him but his friend. When Boston Police arrived theywere advised of the findings and placed him under arrest for Failure to Submit.
9:25 PM 9001366 1/19/2009 Mon Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST / NO SERVICE 277 BABCOCK ST Residential DORM ROOM Officer Christopher Zengo was dispatched for a report of a malesuffering chest pains. Upon arrival he met with the victim who statedthat he was having pains that went from his chest through his back. Samaritanambulance responded on scene to evaluate the victim at which time the victim stated that the pain had diminished and that he did not need any further medical attention.
8:00 AM 9001326 1/19/2009 Mon Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST 700 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential DORM ROOM Officer Peter McCarron was dispatched for a 911 emergency call for anunknown medical emergency at 700 Commonwealth Av. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated she had stomach pains andwanted to go to the hospital. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Beth Israel Hospital.
1:30 AM 9001348 1/19/2009 Mon Bravo LARCENY OVER $250 c266 S30 700 COMMONWEALTH AV & CUMMINGTON STREET Residential DORM ROOM Officer Jack Struble responded for a report of a past larceny. Uponarrival he met the victim who stated that a female guest had taken $1200.00 cash from his wallet on 1/19/2009 at 1:30 AM. The victimstated that his roommate, his roommate’s girlfriend and the suspect entered the victim’s room. The victimstated that his roommate and girlfriend left the room and he left theroom to go next door. When the victim returned at 1:35 AM his roommate’s girlfriend said shewas leaving and she called a cab. The victim discovered the money was gone.
12:53 AM 9001286 1/19/2009 Mon Alpha FIO 855 COMMONWEALTH AV Academic CLASS ROOM Officer Michael Vanaria was conducting a walk and talk where heobserved three white males within the Visual Arts Center on the 5thfloor. The first party is described as a whitemale, 5’10" tall, weighed 165 pounds had brown hair and eyes and was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and blue jeans and sneakers. He hadno visible scars, marks or tattoos. The second party is described as a white male, 6’00" tall, weighed160 pounds, had blonde hair and blue eyes and was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and had a black walking cast on his right foot and ablue low cut sneaker on his left foot. The second party also had no visible scars, marks or tattoos. The third party was described as a white male, 6’00" tall, weighed 160 pounds, had brown hair and eyes and wore a black sweatshirt, blue jeansand sneakers. The three men were asked to pack their belonging and exit the building in a forthwith manner. The men were also advisedof the buildings closing time of 12:30 AM and they all stated they were unaware the building had a closing time and stated they had spentmany overnights in the building. The three men left without incident and the building was secured by this officer.
12:40 AM 9001285 1/19/2009 Mon Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST / ALCOHOL 275 BABCOCK ST Residential LOBBY Officer William Campanella responded to the lobby area for a report ofan intoxicated female. Upon arrival he met with the Duty Security Officer, Mr. Robert Gray, who stated that the victim had attempted togain access to the building and appeared unsteady on her feet and was having difficulty standing. The victim was seated and then started tovomit. Officer Campanella met with the victim, who stated that she had been drinking rum and other alcoholic beverages at a party in Allstonat the AE pie frat house. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center for further treatment.
8:21 PM 9001272 1/18/2009 Sun Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST BABCOCK ST & COMMONWEALTH AV Public Property SIDEWALK Officer Scott Rocheville and Jacob Verge were dispatched to the BabcockSt and Commonwealth Ave for a man having stomach pains. Upon arrival they met with the victim who was on the sidewalk. The victimwas complaining of unbearable stomach pains which had begin at 8:21 PM. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to BMC.
4:56 PM 9001264 1/18/2009 Sun Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST 705 COMMONWEALTH AV Public Property SIDEWALK Officer Christopher Zengo and Matthew Quinlan were dispatched for areport of a female that slipped and fell. Upon arrival they met with the victim who was on the ground crying and holding her shoulder area.Boston EMS responded and transported the victim to Beth Israel.
4:30 PM 9001266 1/18/2009 Sun Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 96 MOUNTFORT ST Residential DORM ROOM Officer Rich Cabral was dispatched for a party requesting a medicalassist. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that she feltpain in her left thumb. The pain radiated up her left arm and her arm feltheavy. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center for medical treatment.
3:00 PM 9001257 1/17/2009 Sat Bravo COUNTERFEIT NOTE, UTTER c267 S10 700 COMMONWEALTH AV Commercial STORE Officer Rich Cabral #518 was dispatched to the City Convenience storefor a report of a counterfeit bill. Upon arrival he spoke to the Assistant Manager Fred Pardo who produced a counterfeit $20.00. Pardostated that the counterfeit bill was passed by an unknown person on 1/17/2009 between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The Assistant Manageron duty was balancing the cash drawer and noticed a $20.00 bill that didn’t feel right, and did not look real. He used a marker tocheck the bill and the mark on the bill turned a gold color.
2:00 PM 9001276 1/18/2009 Sun Bravo DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY +$250, MALICIOUS c266 S12 775 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations PARKING LOT Officer Matthew Quinlan was dispatched to the small parking lot on thewest side of 775 Commonwealth Av for a past B&E to a motor vehicle report. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that sheparked her car in the lot at 2:00 PM. When she returned at 9:44 PM she observed that the driver’s side headlight had been broken.
12:00 PM 9001259 12/20/2008 Sat Bravo LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30 140 BAY STATE RD Residential DORM ROOM Officer Matthew Quinlan was dispatched for a report of a past larceny.Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that her flat screen TV monitor was stolen from her room. The victim stated that she put herTV, remote and cable wire in the TV’s original box and stored it under her bed. The victim left for break on 12/17/2008 and her roommate lefton 12/20/2008. When the victim’s roommate returned on 1/10/09 she discovered the TV was missing and reported it to the RA. The RA toldher that maintenance may have taken it and they would look into it. There was no damage to the room’s door. The Dynex flat screen TV is was valued at $190.00
5:50 PM 9001210 1/17/2009 Sat Alpha GENERAL INVESTIGATION 275 BABCOCK ST Residential DORM ROOM Officers Eugene Smith and Christopher Zengo were dispatched for areport of a confiscated item by an RA. Upon arrival, they met with the RA. She stated that she had seized aglass pipe from a room, and the pipe belonged to a Boston University student. According to her the student admitted ownership of the pipe to her. The glass pipe did not appear to have any visible drug residue.
2:40 PM 9001206 9/14/2008 Sun Alpha GENERAL INVESTIGATION 855 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations UNKNOWN Officer Matthew Bouras responded to a take a report of a pastsuspicious incident. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party whostated that in mid September of 2008 she was approached by a male subject infront of 855 Commonwealth Av for directions. The reporting party gave the male party directions and then he asked her for her e-mailaddress which she gave to him. The reporting party stated that sincethat day the male party has sent her over 50e-mails. In the e-mails she has received, he has sent her clothed pictures of himself, recorded videos of him playing music. He has alsobeen sending e-mails stating that he would like to meet with her. The male party also stated in his e-mails that he knows where she works andknows where she went to high school. The reporting party stated she has only responded two times via e-mail stating that she is notinterested in him and that she wants him to stop contacting her. The male partyhas never threatened her in any of these e-mails. The reporting partystated that she feels very concerned about the male party and that she would like to have this on record with the police department. A record search of the male party revealed that he is a student at Boston University. Sergeant Larry Cuzzi had Officer Bouras respond to his residence andspeak to the male party regarding this matter. Officers Bouras and Daniel Digiovine then went to his residence and made contactwith him. He was advised not to contact the reporting party again or else police action would be taken. He stated that he understood and that he would not contact her again.
2:50 AM 9001177 1/17/2009 Sat Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST / ALCOHOL 700 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential LOBBY Officers Melissa Lombardo and Paul Devlin responded for a report of anintoxicated male party. Upon arrival they met with the victim in the lobby who had small abrasions on his right hand and on his nose. Thevictim stated that he had been drinking during the night with slurred speech and could not respond coherently to basic questions.Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for further evaluation.
2:11 AM 9001174 1/17/2009 Sat Bravo MEDICAL ASSIST / ALCOHOL 700 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential LOBBY Officer Antoine Ramos responded for a report of a intoxicated femaleparty. Upon arrival he met with Boston University Housing Security who stated that the victim appeared to be intoxicated while trying toenter the building. Officer Ramos met with the victim who appeared unsteady on her feet and upon questioning stated she consumed anunspecified amount of alcohol earlier in the evening. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for further medical evaluation.
2:00 AM 9001173 1/17/2009 Sat Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 10 BUICK ST Residential LOBBY Officer Vincent Noga was dispatched to a medical call for a male partyhaving chest pains. Upon arrival he met with Boston EMS who was treating the victim at the scene. The victim was transported to BethIsrael Hospital. The reporting party, a Boston University security employee, stated that the victim had a friend call911 because he was having chest pains.
1:30 AM 9001171 1/17/2009 Sat Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST / ALCOHOL 925 COMMONWEALTH AV Public Property SIDEWALK Officer Anicet Dybantsa was flagged down by State Trooper Ramos onCommonwealth Av near the Agganis arena. Trooper Ramos stated that he came across the victim who appeared to be extremelyintoxicated. The victim was stumbling on his feet, his speech wasslurred and he had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his person. SamaritanAmbulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.
12:00 AM 9001179 1/17/2009 Sat Alpha GENERAL INVESTIGATION 273 BABCOCK ST Residential DORM ROOM Officers Vincent Noga and Antoine Ramos responded to a call ofindividuals banging on the door of a room. Upon arrival Officers Noga and Ramos were met by the reporting party, who stated that for the pastfew hours there had been banging on his door along with threats by unknown persons. The victim stated that he felt the incident wasrelated to the eviction of his roommate which he was involved with. While speaking with the reporting party, a male party knocked on the door and asked to speak with the reporting party. Officers spoke with him who stated that he hadbeen knocking on reporting party’s door earlier, but made no threats. His information was taken and he may have been involved in theincident. The male party was advised not to return and attempt to contact the reporting party until the situation could be sorted out.The reporting party was advised that he could be relocated for hissafety if he wished and to contact Boston University Police if he had anyother concerns or if the parties returned. The reporting party declined any further service.
10:00 PM 9001157 1/16/2009 Fri Alpha FIRE: RESIDENCE / DORMITORY 34 BUSWELL ST Residential DORM ROOM Officers Brian Abdallah and Ron Gately responded for a fire alarm onthe 5th floor. Upon arrival Officer Abdallah entered the building and reported heavy smoke inside. Officers checked the building to make sureit was completely evacuated. Boston Fire responded and proceeded to 5th floor along with Officer Abdallah who had a master keyfrom the building RA. Boston Fire discovered the smoke filled apartment on the third floor. Burnt food wasdiscovered in the oven in this apartment which had no occupants at the time of this incident. Boston Fire disconnected the stove and observedthe wall and cabinets behind the stove had been burned. Boston Fire punctured the wall and used a heat device to make sure there wasno fire in the walls. Boston Fire then vented the apartment and the entire building. Boston Fire cleared the building to be reoccupied and there were no injuries reported.
8:10 AM 9001128 1/16/2009 Fri Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 273 BABCOCK ST Residential DORM ROOM Officer Matt Quinlan was dispatched for a report of a female withabdomen pain. Upon arrival he met with the victim who was in extreme pain and holding the left side of her abdomen. While they were waitingfor Samaritan Ambulance to arrive to pain increased in intensity. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Beth Israel Hospital for treatment.
7:30 AM 9001140 1/16/2009 Fri Alpha LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24100 MOUNTFORT ST Public Property STREET Officer Rick Camillo responded for a report of a hit and run motorvehicle accident report. Upon arrival he met with the victim who statedhe parked his vehicle at 7:30 AM across from 100 Mountfort St. When hereturned at 1:30 PM he discovered damage to the front grill of his motor vehicle which he believes was caused by another car striking it while it was parked and unattended.
12:30 AM 9001015 1/15/2009 Thu Alpha DRUG, POSSESS CLASS D c94C S34 275 BABCOCK ST Residential DORM ROOM Officers Anicet Dybantsa and Jefferey Kotkowski were dispatched for areport of marijuana found in a room. Upon arrival officers met with RA who stated that she smelled a strong odor ofmarijuana coming from a room, she then knocked and entered the room and asked the four occupants of the room if they had any marijuana. At that time the first occupant handed her a bag thatcontained rolling papers and what appeared to be less than 1 once of marijuana. Officers entered the room and could detect a strong odor ofmarijuana in the air. They observed a plastic bag on the table in the center of the room containing a green substance believed to bemarijuana and rolling papers. Officers asked who the marijuana belongedto and the first occupant claimed ownership. The first occupant was then cited by Officer Kotkowski for possession of marijuana.
8:37 PM 9000992 1/14/2009 Wed Alpha MEDICAL ASSIST 881 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations LOBBY Officer Ron Gately was dispatched for a report of a party having chestpains. Upon arrival the victim was being escorted into the BU Infirmary. Boston EMS was also dispatched by Samaritan Ambulance Co. Inthe infirmary the victim was being attended to by Dr. McBride. Boston EMS cancelled and Dr McBride stated he was going to send the victim to the hospital by taxi.
8:00 PM 9000954 1/13/2009 Tue Alpha B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16 96 MOUNTFORT ST Public Property STREET Officer Joseph Sirignano responded to meet with the victim of a pastB&E to a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that on 1/13/2009 at 8:00 PM she parked vehicle across from 96Mountfort St. When she returned on 1/14/2009 at 9:50 AM she discovered that the passenger door window had been broken and that thecontents of the glove box and console had been rifled through. The victim reports that $3.00 in coins were taken from the console.
4:00 PM 9000962 1/8/2009 Thu Alpha LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE c90 S24 1019 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential PARKING LOT Officer Edward Shea was dispatched for a report of damage to a motorvehicle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that she had parked her vehicle in the rear of 1019 Commonwealth Av, on 1/8/2009 at4:00 PM. When she went to check on her vehicle on 1/14/2009 at 12:00 PM she noticed that there was damage to her rear passengerside tire and there was a hole in the sidewall and deep scratches along the passenger side rear quarter panel of her vehicle.
8:30 AM 9000985 1/14/2009 Wed Bravo B&E NIGHTTIME FOR FELONY c266 S16 1 UNIVERSITY RD All Other Locations PARKING LOT Officer Alex Ayochok was dispatched to meet with the victim of a pastB&E to a Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival he spoke with the victim who stated that he parked his motor vehicle in the parking lot locatedbehind 1 University Road at 8:30 AM and when he returned to his vehicle at 6:30 PM he discovered that the passenger side window wasbroken and an IPod and Garmin GPS unit missing from the inside.The victim reports that his Apple IPod was valued at $350.00 and the Garmin GPS was valued at $200.00.
