700 COMMONWEALTH AV Commercial RESTAURANT
Officer Matthew Blakeslee responded for a report of a past larceny, which occurred in the Starbucks at 700 Commonwealth Av. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that at 7:00 PM she had left her wallet on the drink counter after ordering a coffee and when she turned around to pick it up, it was no longer there. She said that she was unable to determine who took her wallet, but did inform the store manager that it had been taken. The victim stated that her New York and Company wallet, valued at $30.00, a Bank of America Visa Credit Card, a Bank of America Visa Debit card, a MBTA transit pass, her medical insurance card, a RI driver’s license, Victoria’s Secret gift card ($90.00) and a Starbucks gift card ($12 – 15.00). She also stated that there was less than $10.00 cash in the wallet. There may be video cameras at that commercial location.

10 BUICK ST Residential BIKE RACK
Officer Tom Smith responded for a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that she locked her bicycle to the bike rack at the bottom of the stairs at 10 Buick St, at 6:00 PM on Monday, 9/01/2008. When she returned to the bike rack at 8:50 PM on Tuesday, 9/02/2008, she found her bicycle was gone and her cable lock had been cut. The victim reports that her MGM mountain bike was valued at $60.00.

110 CUMMINGTON ST Academic OFFICE
Officer Tom Smith responded to room 117 for a report of a past B&E. Upon arrival Officer Smith met with the victim who stated that when she left the office in room 117 at 2:15 PM, she placed her purse underneath her desk. She further stated that when she left there was no one else in the room. The room is locked with a key card access, but the victim was not sure if the door locked behind her. The victim returned at 3:00 PM and discovered that all of her cash had been stolen. She estimated the amount stolen from her to be between $100 and $150.

775 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations OFFICE
Officer Matthew Blakeslee responded to a report of a past larceny at the Student Activities Office / BU Central Office. Upon arrival Officer Blakeslee met with the Program Director for BU Central who stated that $200.00 was taken from a wallet inside of her purse. She said that she had left her purse unattended in her office at 1:15 PM and returned intermittently until she took her purse home. When she arrived at her residence at 5:50 PM she noticed that the money was missing. She said her office was unlocked throughout the day and that there were about eight employees working in her office area. Several students had also been into the office area. Additionally, she stated that her purse was not in plain view from her office doorway as her office is nested inside a main office. The victim stated that nothing else was taken from her wallet and that the contents of her purse were undisturbed. She also noted that she did not observe any suspicious individuals in her office area.

575 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential LOBBY
Officer Anicet Dybantsa responded for a report of an intoxicated party. Upon arrival he met with security, who stated that at 2:00 AM he observed a male party who appeared to be intoxicated struggle to swipe his BU card through the reader. Officer Dybantsa then met with the victim who was sitting on a couch in the lobby. The victim was unable to answer questions and Officer Dybantsa could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Mercy Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

973 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations PARKING LOT
Officer Jacob Verge was dispatched for hit and run motor vehicle accident with property damage. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who reported his vehicle had been struck by another vehicle in the parking lot adjacent to 973 Commonwealth Av, which then fled the scene. He stated that his vehicle was parked in the lot, along side of the building, when another vehicle backed into the side of his vehicle. The victim was notified about the incident by two people who witnessed the accident. The witnesses stated that at 6:00 PM, they were in the parking lot and observed a Volvo vehicle back out of a parking space and strike the victim’s vehicle. They observed a male driver and a female passenger exit the Volvo and look at the victim’s vehicle. The witnesses heard the female say, “There is a big scratch.” Then he heard the male party say, “Get in the car and let’s go.” The witnesses were able to record the Volvo’s license plate number as it fled the parking lot. A query on the Volvo’s registration revealed it was a rental vehicle owned by Hertz Vehicles of Boston. Officer Verge observed the following damage to the victim’s vehicle: a large dent and long scratch on the driver’s side rear passenger door. There were also markings of a dark colored paint in the damaged area on the victim’s vehicle.

575 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential DORM ROOM
Officer Scott Rocheville was dispatched for a party receiving threats via the telephone. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who stated that she had received a threat on her voicemail from her former roommate’s boyfriend. The victim played the voicemail in which the suspect states, “I will kill you,” and then again “I will kill you.” The victim stated that an argument had ensued earlier in the day over a moving situation. The suspect had sent a message to the victim via Facebook. The victim does not know the location of the suspect’s residence; however, he is a student at MIT.

700 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential BATHROOM
Officers William Campanella and Officer Edward Shea were dispatched to the 17th floor in reference to an unconscious male at that location. Upon arrival, Officers Campanella and Officer Shea met with the victim, who was in a semi-conscious state on the toilet in the men’s room of the 17th floor. The victim became somewhat coherent and admitted drinking alcoholic beverages at a unknown location, The victim had urinated on himself and vomited prior to the arrival of officers. Mercy Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Beth Israel Hospital for further treatment.

512 BEACON ST Residential COMMON AREA
Officer Jeffrey Kotkowski was dispatched for an intoxicated female. Upon arrival he met with the victim who was sitting in front of the location. Officer Kotkowski started to talk with the victim and determined that the victim was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. The victim attempted to walk away staggering and almost falling down while walking. Officer William Campanella arrived on the scene during which time the victim wanted to call her mother. The victim called her mother and after speaking with her handed the cell phone to Officer Campanella who spoke to the mother briefly and the mother stated to Officer Campanella that she wanted her daughter, the victim to go to the hospital. Mercy Ambulance arrived on scene and treated the victim. The victim refused to go into the ambulance because she feared that the male EMT’s would harm her. Officers John Mahoney and Melissa Lombardo arrived on the scene. EMT’s requested Officer Lombardo accompany the victim to the hospital due to the fact they were male EMT’s. Officer Lombardo went with Mercy Ambulance #104 to the Beth Israel Hospital followed by Unit 591.

775 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations BIKE RACK
Officer Alex Ayochok was dispatched to the plaza located at 775 Commonwealth Av. for a report of a bicycle theft. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who stated that on Friday 8/29/2008 at 10:00 PM he secured his bike to a bike rack on the plaza, located in front of 775 Commonwealth Av. When he returned to the bike rack on Saturday 8/30/2008 at 2:00 PM he discovered his bike and lock missing from the rack. The rack in which the bike was secured to is located in the center of the plaza, adjacent to the sidewalk. The victim reports that his Giant mountain bike was valued at $200.00.

855 COMMONWEALTH AV Academic PARKING LOT
Officers Scott Rocheville and Jacob Verge were dispatched to 855 Commonwealth Ave for a report of persons taking items from the parking area and loading them into a truck. A description of the vehicle was broadcast. Officer Ron Gately advised he observed a vehicle matching the description exiting the parking lot. Officers observed the vehicle traveling outbound on Commonwealth Ave at Buick St. The vehicle was stopped at 50 Winchester St in Brookline. The truck contained scrap metal and junk. Officer Gately checked the area at 855 Commonwealth Av and reported scrap piping and other scrap metal was present. He reported no damage to the storage containers at that location. A check of the vehicles contents revealed scrap piping and scrap metal. The operator denied being at any Boston University location. All three individuals were given a verbal trespass warning from all Boston University property and if violated they would be subject to arrest.

Officer Ron Gately was dispatched for a report of a past larceny of a bike. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he had locked his bike to the bike rack in front of 140 Bay State Rd on Thursday 8/28/2008 at 6:00 PM. When he returned on Saturday 8/30/2008 at 8:30 PM the bike was missing and the cable lock had been cut and left on the ground. The victim stated that his Cannondale Crossover bike was valued at $800.00.

Officer Tom Smith responded for a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who stated that on 8/28/2008 at 4:00 PM she locked her bicycle with a U lock, through the front tire, to the rack across from the entrance of 771 Commonwealth Av. When she returned to the bike rack on 08/30/2008 at 4:30 PM, she found her bicycle and the lock missing. The victim reports that her Trek Bicycle was valued at $180.00.

Officer Ron Gately was dispatched for a past larceny of a bike report. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he was moving into his apartment and had left his bike unlocked on a small patio just outside the rear door. The victim believes the bike may have been taken sometime between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The victim did not notice anyone suspicious in the area. The victim reports that his Schwinn mountain bike was valued at $200.00.

Officer Matthew Quinlan was approached by the victim of a past B&E to a motor vehicle. The victim stated that he parked his vehicle on Thursday 8/28/2008 at 4:30 PM and when he returned on Friday, 8/29/2008 at 11:00 AM, he found the front passenger side window was smashed and his GPS device was stolen. The victim stated that the GPS unit was valued at $100.00.

Officer Peter McCarron responded for a past B&E of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he parked his vehicle on 8/28/2008 at 4:30 PM. When he returned to his vehicle on 8/29/2008 at 7:50 AM, he discovered that the passenger side door window had been broken several items had been stolen from the vehicle. The victim reports that a Tom Tom GPS receiver, valued at $100.00, a blood pressure cuff, valued at $20.00, a Trio 700W cell phone, valued at $200.00, a Belltronics 760 radar detector, valued at $150.00, a gray fleece jacket, valued at $200.00 and a pair of pants, valued at $50.00 were taken.

Officer Brian Abdallah responded for a past larceny of a bike. Upon arrival he met with the victim, who stated that on 8/28/2008 at 4:30 PM, she locked her bicycle to the bike rack outside 111 Cummington St. When she returned at 5:50 PM, she noticed her bicycle was gone along with her cable lock. There were no witnesses and there are no cameras in the area for review. The victim reports that her Trek road bike was valued at $800.00.

Loss Prevention Officers observed the suspect taking books and putting them under his shirt. The suspect was stopped and then allowed to pay for the items. The suspect was then removed from the store.

915 COMMONWEALTH AV Athletic Facility LOBBY
Officers were dispatched for an irate person inside the lobby of the Ryan Center located inside 915 Commonwealth Av. Sergeant Patrick Nuzzi entered inside the Ryan Center and met with the complainant who stated that prior to officers’ arrival a patient had mistakenly arrived for what she thought was her scheduled appointment. She had become physically agitated over her mistake and started throwing articles of clothing and paper on the floor in the lobby. The party also started to raise her voice alarming other staff and patients inside the clinic. Another therapist intervened with the party in hopes to calm her down so she would leave the facility without further incident. The party was taken to the elevator and exited the building. Officers confirmed that the party had left the building. The complainant stated that the subject will not be allowed back into the Ryan Center because her action placed her staff in fear of her due to her uncontrollable behavior.

Officers Kevin St Ives and Christopher Zengo were dispatched for a report for a past B&E to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival they met with the victim who stated that his passenger side front window was smashed in between 4:00 PM and 4:27 PM, while he was moving his belongings into his dorm room. The victim stated that his Macintosh Cinema computer display, valued at $700.00 was taken.

179 BAY STATE RD Residential DORM ROOM
Officer William Campanella spoke with the victim of a past larceny. The victim stated that on 8/17/2008, between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM someone stole his watch from his room. The victim stated that at the time of the theft the watch was located in a drawer at a desk adjacent the door to the room. The victim further stated that he was in the process of moving from 179 Bay State Rd. Several times during the day he left the door to the room unsecured, open and the room unattended. The victim at the time of this report is no longer a resident or student at Boston University. The victim reports that the Baume-Mercier watch was valued at $2200.00.
