Student biker hit by car on Comm Ave Tuesday

A College of Arts and Sciences student biking east on Commonweath Avenue was struck by a car driven by a School of Management student about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, near Carlton Street. The BU Police Department, the Boston Fire Department, and Boston Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident.
The CAS student, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported by emergency medical services personnel to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
According to witnesses, the car’s driver was not at fault. The CAS student allegedly cut in front of the SMG student’s car on a green light, says BUPD Sergeant Jack St. Hilaire. The impact caused the windshield to break. Boston Police are investigating.
