About the speakers:
John Burt is the author of Victory and two previous books of poetry, Work Without Hope and The Way Down. He is the editor of The Collected Poems of Robert Penn Warren, and is currently finishing a book about the Lincoln-Douglas debates of 1858. He is a professor of English at Brandeis University.
Ted Richer, a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, currently teaches at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. In 2003 his book The Writer in the Story and Other Figurations was published in England by the Apocalypse Press. Journal publications include Agni, Literary Imagination, the T. S. Eliot Society Newsletter, Harvard Review, James Joyce Quarterly, and Daedalus.
