Eat Ice Cream, Support Cancer Research
The Jimmy Fund’s Scooper Bowl is today at City Hall Plaza

Beat the heat today at the 26th annual Scooper Bowl, an all-you-can-eat ice cream festival benefiting the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Visitors may have a hard time choosing what ice cream flavors to try, with 11 companies donating more than 40 kinds of ice cream. But it’s summer — why not try every flavor? Local band Clarias and children’s entertainers will perform.
The Scooper Bowl began in June 1983 and relies on donations and volunteers for ice cream, scoopers, and products. More than $250,000 was raised at last year’s Scooper Bowl, bringing the 25-year total to more than $2 million.
Today, June 12, is the last day of the three-day annual event, so be sure to come to Boston’s City Hall Plaza between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for ages 10 and up, $4 for children 3 to 9, and free for children under 3. For more information, visit the Web site.
