Football Fans: Root for Your Home Team on Your Home Turf

Super Bowl to be shown at Agganis Arena on Sunday


The New England Patriots may be BU’s hometown team, but Pats fans shouldn’t expect Sunday’s Super Bowl viewing party at Agganis Arena to be a hard-core Brady bunch. BU Today asked students who they’d be rooting for in the big game, and the outlook is grim: there are a legion of New York Giants fans in our midst.

Not to worry. Even Eli Manning acolytes are welcome at the Agganis Arena Super Bowl party, which features food and drinks, ice-skating, and four JumboTron screens of football, all free. Add to that prizes, games, and giveaways and Agganis is the place to be. The party starts at 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 3.   1. Great idea. Didn’t realize you had such a good ad. Find it a wonderful student bonding PR idea- using Football as a catalyst. Wonder why BU terminated their football program, since the sport obviously draws ethusiasm!! Even more humerous is the fact that you named the arena after a great athlete known for his FOOTBALL and Baseball abilities. Why isn’t the arena a FOOTBALL Field? Perhaps you ought to dedicate the soccer field to one of your best known Cricket players – then eliminate soccer.

    Any school of significance with a great student atmosphere has football in their sports program. Can’t wait for homecoming! Is there a bandmitten game that weekend?
