Free Admission to Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Tonight
Events include jazz, dragon dance, and film

Don’t miss a free look at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, which opens its doors for Neighborhood Night this evening. Tonight’s performers include a jazz group and a dance troupe, and the museum’s permanent collection of paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and furniture will be accessible to visitors.
The festivities, which include storytelling and games, feature the jazz group Syncopation and the lion- and dragon-dance troupe Gund Kwok. Neighborhood Night also includes entrance to this summer’s exhibition Isabella’s Travels by past artist-in-residence Luisa Rabbia. Rabbia created a film that layers her own drawings, images, and objects over photographs that “Mrs. Jack” took on a trip to China in 1883. The result is a 30-minute film titled Travels with Isabella, Travel Scrapbooks 1883/2008.
Admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, 280 The Fenway, is free tonight, August 7, beginning at 5 p.m. The museum closes at 8 p.m. For more information, click here.
