Game Day: Do You Love That Dirty Water?
How to tell a true Sox fan
The last time the Red Sox played an official game at Fenway Park, Mike Lowell’s game-winning RBI double in the fifth inning gave the Sox a 2-0 lead in their sweep of the World Series.
Two weeks into the 2008 season, the Sox are set to play at home under slightly different circumstances: they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend, and are now sitting at the bottom of the American League East.
Times like these separate the diehard fans and believers from the fickle-minded and the doomsayers.
In the video above, BU Today asks students and staff what separates the true Red Sox fans from the fair-weather ones. Were you up at the crack of dawn for the season opener in Tokyo? Have you ever sported a pink Sox cap? And, most important, when the music plays, can you sing along?
