Putters give green to Greater Boston Food Bank

Calling all Tiger-Woods-wannabes: all golfers, good and bad, are invited to Boston City Hall Plaza, where they can putt their way to a chance to win a $500 gift certificate at BJ’s Wholesale Club.
BJ’s Putting Challenge, from 4 to 6 p.m. this afternoon, sets potential putters against the LPGA’s Jane Blalock — for free. Each participant who makes a 12-foot putt will be entered into a drawing for a $500 gift certificate.
All participants will receive a pair of tickets to the BJ’s Charity Championship, which takes place August 2 and 3 at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy. BJ’s will donate $10 to the Greater Boston Food Bank for every putt, no matter how bad it is.
