Jethro Tull to Play Bank of America Pavilion
Band stops in Boston during 40th anniversary tour
In 1968, a group of unknown, but ambitious, blues musicians from a small town south of London began playing the pub circuit in southern England. Forty years later, with more than 30 albums to its credit and sales totaling more than 50 million, Jethro Tull is an international phenomenon. Although the band still adheres to its blues roots, Jethro Tull incorporates many other musical genres into its songs, including classical, folk, jazz, and rock.
Tonight at 7:30 p.m., the group — featuring original band members Ian Anderson and Martin Barre — will perform at the Bank of America Pavilion, 290 Northern Ave., in downtown Boston. Tickets are $30 and are available through Live Nation. For more information, call 617-728-1600.
