Men’s Soccer Hosts Terrier Tailgate Before Sunday’s Home Opener
Pregame festivities include barbecue, live radio broadcasts

After a trip to the NCAA tournament last season, the Boston Universitymen’s soccer team returns to Nickerson Field on Sunday, August 31, forthe home opener against number 13 Massachusetts. This season’s home opener will onceagain be preceded by Terrier Tailgate pregame festivities.
Last year’s game drew a record crowd of5,111, the eighth-largest crowd in the country for a men’scollege soccer game in 2007. This season, even more fans are expectedas the Terriers battle the nationally ranked Minutemen, the team thatknocked BU out of the NCAA tournament last season, with kickoff set for6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear scarlet and white as BU, along with colleges and universities nationwide, welcomes thenew school year by continuing the celebration of College Colors Day.
The gates open at 4:30 p.m. with a pregame barbecue. The BU All-Access radio show will be broadcastlive from Nickerson Field on WWZN-AM 1510, "the Zone," starting at 4 p.m.,and WTBU takes over pregame coverage at 5 p.m. and will broadcast thegame. In addition to listening to the radio broadcast on WTBU, fans who can’t makeit to Nickerson Field can watch online with BU All-Access.
Prior to the match, BU will be presented with theStuart P. Haskell, Jr., Commissioner’s Cup for the strongestoverall 2007-08 athletic program in the America East Conference.
Ticketsfor the Terrier Tailgate, which include admission to the game and thepregame barbecue, are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 14.Tickets for the game only are $5 for adults and $2 for children,faculty, and staff. BU students are admitted free to both events.
