New VP of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at BMC
Ravin Davidoff will steer direction of future care at medical center

Ravin Davidoff, the codirector of noninvasive cardiology at Boston Medical Center, has been appointed BMC’s vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer. Davidoff, whose new job starts July 1, also currently serves as executive director of clinical affiliations at BMC and is a professor of medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine.
As chief medical officer, he will have an expanded role in the review of clinical services and the future design of care at BMC. He will manage the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee and coordinate its graduate medical education programs. He also will oversee clinical competency, credentialing, focused competency review, peer review, physician conduct and behavior, physician licensure, residency programs, and regulatory agency interface.

Davidoff received an M.B., B.Ch., from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital and a fellowship in cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He came to the Medical Campus in 1990 as a staff cardiologist at the former University Hospital.
Board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases, Davidoff is listed in the current issue of America’s Top Doctors and in Boston Magazine’s “Best Docs 2007.”
He has authored, coauthored, and/or edited more than 200 papers, book chapters, and abstracts. His research interests include geometric and functional abnormalities in cardiovascular disorders, peri-operative diastolic dysfunction, and prognostic predictors in cardiac amyloidosis.
