PRC exhibition runs through September 14
While you may not have the $25,000 it takes to purchase The PRC Portfolio, the Photographic Resource Center is offering a chance to see the edition’s works by world-renowned artists through September 14.
The photographers included in the portfolio are Barbara Bosworth, JimDow, Lalla Essaydi, Ralph Gibson, Frank Gohlke, Emmet Gowin, Robert andShana ParkeHarrison, David Hilliard, Henry Horenstein, Jocelyn Lee,Laura McPhee, Susan Meiselas, Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Abelardo Morell,Patti Smith, and Sage Sohier.
The portfolio will be produced in a trade edition of 35 signedand numbered prints enclosed in a custom clamshell case measuring 20 x24 inches. Each photographer will receive an artist proof edition ofthe portfolio in return for his or her contribution. The portfolio’s printers, Color Services, LLC, and Palm Press,Inc., will be given an artist proofedition, and three artist proof editionswill remain with the PRC. The price of the portfolio is $25,000.
A preview exhibition of the photographs in The PRC Portfolio will be on view in the PRC Gallery, 832 Commonwealth Ave., through September 14, 2008. For more information, click here. Exhibition ticket prices are $3 for non-BU students (with valid ID), $2 for seniors, and free to members, member schools, children under 18, and BU students, faculty, and staff. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 5 p.m. weekends, closed Mondays.
