Three Ways in One to Raise Money
Teresa Voght of the Office of Planned Giving will participate in her first triathlon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Teresa Voght worked as a lifeguard in high school and college, but she was never an endurance athlete. That will change on June 7, when she plans to swim a mile in Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, bike 27 miles, and run 6. Voght, marketing coordinator in BU’s Office of Planned Giving, will participate in the Mooseman Triathlon Festival to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“It is a good cause and a great way to give back,” says Voght (MET’05). “I have heard a lot of great things about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the work they do.” The society funds blood cancer research, education, and patient services.
Voght joined the endurance sports training program Team in Training to prepare for her first triathlon. “My plan is to power through the swim and to use my arms as much as possible so that my legs will be able to go through the run and the biking,” she says. “I think all the excitement and all the people who will be cheering and all the endorphins will just be pushing me through.”
