Ultimate Puts a Competitive Spin on Frisbee
Championship teams come to Boston this week
Think you know everything there is to know about Frisbee? Think again. Ultimate Frisbee takes the familiar sport and puts a competitive spin on it, with rules similar to football or rugby. Want to know more? Join the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance as it partners with the Ultimate Showcase Series (USS) to host UK teams in friendly exhibition games today and tomorrow at Boston-area fields. Clinics and instructional pickup games will be held before and after the games.
Today, at the USS Mixed World Championship, the English National Ultimate Frisbee Team competes against Team Slow White, the U.S. National Finalist and World Bronze Medalist. Tomorrow, the USS Men’s World Championships pit Great Britain against Team Boston Ultimate.
The USS Mixed World Championship is today, June 26, at Teddy Ebersol’s Red Sox Fields at Lederman Park, along the Esplanade, Boston, at 7 p.m. The USS Men’s World Championship is Friday, June 27, at Bello Field, Tufts University, Medford, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but donations are suggested.
