Monday, August 25
FYSOP Move-In
4 p.m.
Students participating in the First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP), which offers incoming BU students a unique opportunity to contribute to their new community by performing a week of service before classes begin, move into their permanent residence. After getting settled, they will meet their staff leaders and attend the opening ceremony.
Saturday, August 30
Move-in for first-year students with last names beginning A–L
9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For a complete move-in schedule, click here.
Move-In Double Feature Screening
9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Morse Auditorium, 602 Commonwealth Ave.
Take a break from moving into your dorm, bring your friends, and join the Student Activities Office for a double feature: Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Free with valid BU ID.
Sunday, August 31
Move-in for first-year students with last names beginning M–Z

Terrier Tailgate 2008
4:30 to 8 p.m., Nickerson Field
Come cheer on the Terriers at the Annual Terrier Tailgate Party on Nickerson Field. Get pumped up for one of the biggest soccer games of the year: BU versus the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. The event is free (and there will be free food), so take a break from move-in and bring your family down for this year’s Terrier Tailgate. The game starts at 6 p.m. Don’t forget your BU ID.
Monday, September 1
Move-in for all students
9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Class of 2012 Matriculation Ceremony
10 a.m., Track and Tennis Center, 100 Ashford St.
This formal induction ceremony for the Class of 2012 marks the first time the whole class will gather in one place — the next, and last, time is at Commencement.
SPLASH and welcome barbecue
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nickerson Field (rain location: GSU Metcalf Hall)
Right after Matriculation, don’t miss this festival of fun, food, and student activities on Nickerson Field.
Tuesday, September 2
Classes begin.
