Making the Moves
Getting into the dorms was warm, wet, and a little wild
The slide show above takes a look at how people got settled in.
Danny arrived right on schedule over the weekend, but he wasn’t moving into Warren Towers or the brand-new StuVi2. Neither was he the big blowhard everyone feared — Danny never got past tropical storm status, dumping a lot of rain on Boston, but not wreaking havoc.
So for many, moving in was a somewhat dreary, all-business experience, no Frisbee breaks or mini-siestas on the BU Beach. Those who came early were able to keep drier, but didn’t really beat the weather — many helped friends and new roommates lug their stuff on Saturday, getting wet despite myriad umbrellas, ponchos, and plastic trash bags.
An old superstition says that journeys launching in rain are blessed. And so this school year’s journey has begun.
