59 seconds.
No longer just a number on the clock’s countdown, it became a moment BU fans solidified into legend .
“Every dog has its day, and today was the Terriers’,” says Ross Lichtenberg (SAR’10), better known around the rink as Jesus. His counterpart, Hot Dog, a.k.a. Brian Fadem (COM’10), was rendered speechless. “I have to say, that was the best game of hockey I’ve ever seen.”
Only a period earlier, even diehard fans at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., were having their doubts about grabbing a win against the Miami Redhawks. But only for a moment.
“I was a little scared,” says Brandon Epstein (SMG’09), after Coach Jack Parker pulled goalie Kieran Millan (CAS’12) to add an extra attacker to the ice. “But as nervous as I was during those last three minutes, I knew those guys would pull out a miracle — and they did.”
