Sky High
There’s no better Boston view than from the top of the Pru

The elevator ride makes your ears pop, a fitting start to a trip to the Skywalk.
The Prudential Center’s 50th-story floor-to-ceiling windows overlook a Boston panorama: the view stretches as far as the beaches of Cape Cod on a clear day.
To see the entire city of Boston, the Skywalk Observatory at the Pru is the place to go. Sunlight shoots down stretches of hallway lined with interactive displays of snippits of Boston history. Skywalk sunsets are spectacular enough to empty your camera’s memory card.
Audio tours detailing how the city was built, from the Back Bay to the John Hancock Tower, and how its culture was formed are included in the ticket price. History buffs can watch a quick video about Boston, shown throughout the day in the Skywalk Theater.
Tickets to the Skywalk Observatory are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and $8 for children under 12, and are available at the the Skywalk Observatory kiosk in the Prudential Arcade, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week, or at the entrance on the 50th floor. Call ahead to be sure the Skywalk is not closed for a private function. The Skywalk is open all summer from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (the last elevator leaves at 9:30 p.m.), seven days a week.
