Speakers Galore
Convocations attract distinguished personalities from every walk of life

An intriguing array of speakers will be offering remarks at BU’s 17 schools and colleges during Commencement weekend. Ceremonies this year are spread across three days, which means that it’s possible to check out more than one speaker. The list below includes some, but not all, of the highlights:
College of Communication: Bonnie Hammer (COM’71), president of NBC Universal Cable; Agganis Arena, 9 a.m. Sunday.
College of Fine Arts: Gunther Schuller, composer, author, and jazz performer; George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall, 6 p.m. Saturday.
School of Hospitality Administration: Denise Coll, president, North America, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide; George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall, 12:30 p.m. Friday.
Graduate School of Management: Alessandro Benetton, executive vice chair of the Benetton Group, Agganis Arena, 5 p.m. Friday.
School of Medicine: Stephen Bergman (Samuel Shem), psychiatrist and author (House of God), Marriott Boston Copley Place, fourth floor, 5 p.m. Sunday.
School of Public Health: BU Trustee Cleve Killingsworth, president and CEO of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts; Boston Sheraton Hotel, Republic Ballroom, 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
College of Arts & Sciences, Computer Science: Colin Angle, iRobot chair, CEO, and cofounder, School of Law Auditorium, 9 a.m. Sunday.
School of Law: Howard Dean, former six-term governor of Vermont and former chair of the Democratic National Committee, Agganis Arena, 4 p.m. Sunday.
