Turn Out the Lights
Energy conservation suggestions for spring break

Before you headed off to a tropical locale — or just back home to New Jersey — we hope you checked out your dorm room or apartment to see what energy you could save. Spring break is the perfect opportunity to reduce your environmental footprint at Boston University.
We can all help to lower greenhouse gas emissions, conserve energy, and save the University cash by addressing the following:
Switch off computers, monitors, and printers
If you have access to heat control, turn the thermostat down to 60 degrees and shut and lock all windows
Turn off all lights
Unplug all appliances and chargers
For more information on what you can do to conserve energy while at BU or at home, visit the Massachusetts Chapter of the Sierra Club.
If you have a suggestion to improve efficiency on campus, send it to BeGreen@BU.edu.
To report broken malfunctioning equipment, call the emergency control desk at 617-353-2105.
This message is brought to you by the BU Energy Club.
