Cassandre Marie Plantin was hospitalized after being hit by a car Sunday in Connecticut.

A College of Arts and Sciences junior is in stable but critical condition after being struck by a car outside a McDonald’s in Vernon, Conn., on Sunday. Officer Kevin Slater of the Vernon Police Department says Cassandre Marie Plantin was hit by a Toyota Prius just after 7 p.m. as she was walking from a McDonald’s to the bus she was riding to Boston from her home in New York. Slater says Plantin was treated at a local hospital and flown by helicopter to the trauma center at Hartford Hospital.

Plantin’s father, Moise Plantin, says his daughter had spent the weekend at their home in Westbury, N.Y. His daughter suffered a fractured nose and right orbital, he says, and after the accident “knew where she was, but she could not remember what happened.”

She is the second BU student hit by a car in less than a week. Last Thursday, a College of Engineering sophomore was struck on Commonwealth Avenue.

  1. I’ve been there so many times taking the bus between NY and Boston… and almost gotten hit by cars. They really need to put a crosswalk there. I hope she’s okay.

  2. I am so glad to know you are doing better! I was there when it happened and the first person to help you until medical personnel arrived. I was very worried about you. I wish you well and a very speedy recovery!
