The Christmas Revels
Christmas has come and gone, but the Christmas Revels are with us for three more days, at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre. See fools, giants, dragons, medieval knights, Renaissance dancers, and Victorian masquers, hear carols and rounds for all to sing, poetry, dances, and period music at this 40-year New England tradition.
The shows, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, December 27 and 28, and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, are at the Sanders Theatre, 45 Quincy St., Cambridge. Ticket prices range from $25 to $52 for adults, $15 to $42 for children. More information and ticket availability can be found here.

Holiday Food Drive at Picco
Yes, it is better to give than receive, and diners at the South End’s Picco restaurant can do both at once. The high-end pizza and pasta place is holding a monthlong food drive for the Greater Boston Food Bank. The restaurant will match each donation, and donors will be given a $5 Picco gift card.
Picco, 513 Tremont St., Boston, is open Sunday to Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Requested donations include canned fruits and vegetables, nuts, and pasta. More information is available here.

The Museum of Fine Arts
One of the world’s great art museums is now better than ever with its new Art of the Americas wing, which opened in November. Current exhibitions at the museum include Kristin Baker: New Paintings and Under the Skin: Tattoos in Japanese Prints.
The Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave., Boston, is open Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Admission is free for BU students, $18 for students 18 and older, and $20 for adults; free to all on Wednesdays after 4 p.m. More information is available here.

First Night
Hey, it’s New Year’s Eve, the night that tens of thousands of people brave the cold to party at dozens of events all over town. Events begin at 9 a.m. and the festivities culminate at midnight in a fireworks display over Boston Harbor.

Saturday, January 1
Improv Asylum
Ring in the new year with some laughter! Improv Asylum is presenting Hungry Hungry Hipsters on the first night of 2011. The show includes sketches based on Glee and New England’s very own Canobie Lake Park.
Improv Asylum is at 216 Hanover St., Boston’s North End; shows are at 8 and 10 p.m.; $15 for students, $20 to $25 on Saturday for general admissions. Find more information here.
Sunday, January 2
Potluck Lunch
Eat and meet at this free potluck lunch and coffee at Marsh Chapel; lunch follows the Sunday morning service every first Sunday of the month.
Marsh Chapel is at 735 Commonwealth Ave., Boston. Admission is free and open to the general public. More information is available here.
