Internships, summer jobs, and vacations will soon be a distant memory, as Boston University students converge on campus this weekend to prepare for fall semester.
It’s move-in time. But in between unpacking boxes and getting ready for classes, there will be a lot to do on campus throughout the weekend. Below is a list of some events. Learn about more here. ImprovBoston kicks off the weekend for students already on campus with a night of stand-up comedy. For 27 years, ImprovBoston has been dedicated to the art of comedy through performances and teaching. Tonight’s show presents a selection of Boston’s finest improv, sketch, and stand-up for audiences of all ages. Admission is free.

Matriculation Procession
Members of the Class of 2014 march down Commonwealth Avenue to Agganis Arena. The procession, led by Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore, University Marshal Ted DeWinter, and the Student Union, begins at Danielsen Hall, 512 Beacon St., proceeds to Bay State Road and then to Comm Ave, where they’ll be joined by the BU Band.

Matriculation
More than 4,000 members of the Class of 2014 will be formally inducted into the Boston University community. President Robert A. Brown will address the Class of 2014, and their parents.

Splash!
Immediately after Matriculation, students head to Splash! where they can meet representatives from more than 200 organizations on campus. Learn about the rich and varied extracurricular life at BU and how you can get involved. Music, games, food, and giveaways will also be provided.
Make sure to pick up a BSO College Card, which gets students into selected Boston Symphony Orchestra events for free. BU students who bring their BSO card to the Symphony Hall box office, 301 Massachusetts Ave., Boston, can receive free tickets to more than 20 concerts and open rehearsals. BU faculty and staff members can purchase half price tickets to the same events with their card at the box office. Cards must be presented with a BU ID at the box office on the day of the performance to receive a ticket. The cards also will be available at the CFA Dean’s Office, 855 Comm Ave, second floor, and at the second floor info desk at the George Sherman Union.

Terrier Tailgate
The fun doesn’t end with Splash! The BU Band, Rhett, and the cheer and dance teams will perform at the Terrier Tailgate, revving up the crowd for the BU women’s soccer game against the University of Washington at 8 p.m. Free ice cream will also be provided.

Women’s Soccer Game
With seven America East titles and eight NCAA appearances over the past decade, the BU women’s soccer program has built an impressive tradition of success. The three-time defending conference champion Terriers play the University of Washington Huskies.
