Take Me Out to the (Minor League) Ballgame
Pawtucket Red Sox offer affordable family fun

When it comes to Major League Baseball, the fabled boys of summer charge man-sized ticket prices these days, especially if you want to take the kids. So why not enjoy the national pastime for just seven bucks a person (five for seniors and children 12 and under)? You can watch the minor league Pawtucket Red Sox, about an hour’s drive south of Boston. The team plays through Labor Day, September 6.
The PawSox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, belong to the 14-team International League.
For a team closer to Boston, try the Lowell Spinners, a Class-A affiliate of the Red Sox. The Spinners are in the New York-Penn League.
The PawSox play at McCoy Stadium, 1 Columbus Ave., Pawtucket, R.I. Directions are available here, information about purchasing tickets here, and schedule here.
