  1. I was there over spring break too and was really annoyed at Universal’s lack of organization. They could’ve said right at the entrance to the park that you’d need a ticket to even get IN to the Wizarding World. By the time I got in, there was no time to wait for Ollivanders before the park closed. I feel like it’s poor planning, I know they wanted everything to be authentic but the stores are just too small. There was a line for Honeydukes, and once you’re in a store you can’t spend a lot of time looking around before it gets crowded. And the whole system where you need to put your belongings in lockers halfway through the Forbidden Journey line was CHAOS.
Not to mention a few of the other rides at Islands of Adventure had broken down that day. I loved the Wizarding World, but Universal in general makes me wary to return. I never had any of these problems at Disney.

  2. That’s hysterical, I went the same day. I think it was great, but just incredibly crowded. Theme parks just get ridiculous with huge crowds, even in Disney you practically can’t walk at certain points. Hopefully I’ll be able to go back when it’s empty. By the way, the butterbeer is amazing, even if it tastes suspiciously like Dr. Brown’s Cream Soda….

  3. I’m rather surprised by the crowds and long lines. I went last August and the longest I had to wait for anything was Ollivander’s shop–and that was only for 50 minutes or so. Maybe it’s just because it’s Spring Break? I would definitely advise going at a different time of the year; my friend and I were never restricted by time and lines, we got to ride everything multiple times, we were able to see every detail in every window, shop, and line…it was absolutely magical! I spent three days there and yet I can’t wait to go again!

  4. I went over spring break too and I thought it was fantastic. I had the time of my life, and although it was crowded, I didn’t have to wait and get a ticket or anything. I got there as soon as it opened, which was a great idea except that the line for the castle is actually at one of its worse points at that time, but honestly? Who cares. It was AWESOME! When I went back to the Wizarding World later that night there wasn’t a wait either, so I guess I lucked out?

    Best. Day. Ever. ’nuff said.
