Women’s Soccer Aims to Make History
Terriers looking for fifth consecutive conference title tomorrow

BU’s women’s soccer Terriers will shoot for a place in history tomorrow when they host Albany in the America East championship. If victorious, they will become the first team in conference history to win five consecutive titles. Ranked 13th nationally, the Terriers (17-2-1) have already set a program record for wins in a season.
Riding a 12-game winning streak, BU enters Saturday’s 1 p.m. matchup having outscored opponents, 37-4, during that period. The Terriers’ balanced attack has seen six players recording 10 points or more this season.
“We’re really excited to play in the championship,” says head coach Nancy Feldman “It was a goal we set at the beginning of the year, and our team has done a good job of putting themselves in a position to achieve this goal. We know we’re coming up against an Albany team that’s red hot, but it’s great to be playing at Nickerson Field. We’ll have to bring our very best game to win on Saturday.”
Leading the offense tomorrow is two-time AE Striker of the Year Jessica Luscinski (SAR’12), who has a team-high eight goals and seven assists. She currently ranks second all-time at BU in assists (23) and is tied for third in points (79). Other key contributors this season are 2011 America East Midfielder of the Year Brittany Heist (CAS’11, SED’12) and All-Conference First Team honoree Kylie Strom (SMG’14), both with 17 points.
On the defensive end, 2011 America East Defender of the Year Lina Cords (CAS’12) anchors a backline that has shut out 12 opponents since the season began. Kelly King (CAS’14) and Alice Binns (SAR’12) have shared goaltending duties, combining for a .831 save percentage and 0.54 goals against average.
Number three-seeded Albany (9-9-1) advanced to the America East final after its 1-0 upset over second-seeded Hartford on October 31.
BU students are urged to arrive early for tomorrow’s game. The first 100 students through the gates receive free admission with a valid BU ID.
The Terriers host Albany in the America East Championship game tomorrow, Saturday, November 5, at 1 p.m. at Nickerson Field. General admission is $8. Admission is $2 for any student attending an America East school. Tickets for other students and children are $5 and will be sold at the gate.
