  1. RIP to this man and my thoughts go out to his loved ones.

I really hope the bike safety meeting that the City of Boston hosted this morning came up with some productive solutions to eliminate tragedies like this in the future, but I’m not holding my breath.

  2. I was hit at the same spot three years ago when I was riding my bike to class, in the bike lane, going through a green light, when a young woman driving her car took a right-hand turn onto St. Paul Street. She turned on her blinker at the last minute and was on the phone. Luckily I was mostly unscathed. It’s frightening to hear about this incident and reflect on my own.

My thoughts go out to this young man. Perhaps there should be a discussion about making this a street that those driving on Commonwealth Ave. should not be allowed to turn onto. It is on a slope so bikers do get a considerable amount of speed, and cars go pretty recklessly down Comm. Ave.
