There are 6 comments on LGBT Seniors, Invisible No More

  1. “LGBT elders may not be exactly like you, but there are lots of people who aren’t exactly like you, so let’s get over it, old and young alike.” Great quote!

  2. I particularly highlight the portion talking about cumulative disadvantage… It is so relevant to the LGBT community and other minority community and strengthens the need to create environments where seniors feel safe and secure in order to age with pride and decency

  3. Ditto on the quote: “get over it.” I work with the senior LGBT community through my work in helping them to find long-term care providers who get it. Well said.

  4. It’s sad that the rates of HIV/AIDS infection is on the rise in the over 55 population. Chastity and a removal of self away from such high risk behavior is the best way to avoid the disease, young or old.

  5. I live in a part of the country where LGBT elders are not considered as having any needs or rights. I would love to live in Boston or New York City where there are LGBT communities that support elders.
