It’s been a weird weather year, featuring a mild winter followed by an early summer that at times has felt like fall. But among summer’s eternal verities is baseball, and if the Red Sox aren’t doing well enough to make you splurge on Fenway tickets, there are several affordable minor league teams nearby, one playing tonight.
The Pawtucket Red Sox take on the Charlotte Knights at 7:05 p.m. The PawSox are the Bosox’s Rhode Island Triple-A affiliate, playing in the International League.
Summer also offers the chance to see the Lowell Spinners, a Class-A farm team for Boston that plays in the New York–Penn League. They’re away tonight, but you can see their season schedule here.
The PawSox play at McCoy Stadium, One Columbus Ave., Pawtucket, R.I. The game tonight, Tuesday, June 26, starts at 7:05 p.m. General admission is $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children ages 12 and under. Info is available here. The Spinners play at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, 450 Aiken St., Lowell, Mass. Directions, schedule, and ticket-purchasing information are here.
