  1. Great article about a wonderful artist.

One note, however – unless I thought an article about Wynton Marsalis would include the phrase ‘son of a jazz pianist’, I would ask that you think about what value adding ‘daughter of a jazz trumpeter’ adds to her list of international accomplishments?

  2. I would have you know that Wynton has more than exceeded my expectations and has carved out a greater niche than I ever had. He has distinguished himself to a point where he could be anyone’s son and it wouldn’t matter. However Ms. Bridgewater is more of an unknown figure and thus needs the credibility that yes, she does have a background in Jazz( hence the daughter of a jazz trumpeter).

  3. Clearly an article about Wynton Marsalis SHOULD include the phrase “son of a jazz pianist.” It would have great value in the case of either gender. I am the daughter of an artist, a painter, and it has had an enormous influence on me. Anyone brought up in an artistic household who becomes an artist of one kind or another has been greatly influenced by their background.

  4. WOW…that’s all I can say about last night’s performance! That was THE BEST THURSDAY OF MY LIFE, Seriously!!! Dee Dee you are a beautiful phenomenal talented person and I was left speechless. If I could afford you I would give an arm and leg to have you perform at my wedding :)
Sending you lots of love and positive energy always!

Thank You BU for inviting Ms. Bridgewater!
