After a bomb threat was called in to a person at 881 Commonwealth Avenue Thursday morning, Boston and BU police searched the building. No bomb was found in the building.
BU spokesperson Colin Riley says the threat, which also referred to the admissions building on Bay State Road, was received at 10:30 a.m. The person who took the call contacted the BU Police.
Police cruisers poured onto Commonwealth Avenue and raced to BU’s admissions building on Bay State Road, and canine units searched both areas, BUPD Chief Thomas Robbins says. Neither building was evacuated, he says, but Boston police did evacuate the Castle, also on Bay State Road; the chief says he doesn’t know the reason for that order.
Police determined that it was safe to enter the buildings shortly before noon.
